Free Time

I can't believe it's been close to 3 weeks since I posted. That's unlike me! Just busy I guess. Most nights when I get home from clinic, I'm too tired to do anything. I make a conscious effort to try to get a run in because usually it gives me a bit more energy. School is going well. I can't believe I have 6 weeks down already! I usually only have 1 day off a week so I definitely need to make the most of it. Today I tackled a mountain of laundry. I'm on load 6 and only have 1 more load to do. :) Also went full out grocery shopping for the first time in a month. My house still looks a bit like a disaster but that's because I needed to get out and actually spend some time with the boys. If I get free time, you bet I'm going to soak in my little boys.
After Chan got home from kindergarten today, we packed lunches and headed to the splash park. We have a huge park/splash pad only a block from our house. It was a perfectly beeautiful day, in the low 80's which is nice for the end of September. The boys played for close to 2 hours and I enjoyed actually being outside.

Eating lunch. Nutella and pb for Chan. He loves nutella right now.

Playing on the splash pad. Isn't it a pretty day?

Amazing what fun a plastic baggie can create.

Rowan has started singing a lot lately, and he always feels the need in the car. He's just cute. That is all.

Zoo Day

What's the summer without a day at the zoo? My mom was here a few weeks ago. I totally look forward and soak up the time when my mom is down here. Although she lives 4 hours away, she makes it a priority to come down quite a bit to see her kids that live in Utah. She spent a few days helping me clean, take care of the boys, and we took a trip to the zoo. This year, they have Zoorassic park where there were huge exhibits of dinosaurs all around. They seemed really lifelike and some of them even spit water. Rowan was terrified of the huge T-Rex. Once we got home, I realized I didn't get any good pictures of the Dinos, but still got a few cute shots.

Kind of a cool wooden horse.

It was lunchtime for the elephants!

Hiking, Bocce, Crafting, Boating

I'm finally getting around to posting the last about Bear Lake. The day that we went to the Minnetonka caves, we also went for a hike. The hike we went on was Limber Pine Loop. It was close to bear lake, and makes a loop. It was about 2 miles, so a perfect distance. All of the kids did great!

Everybody before the hike.

All of the grandkids together for a group shot.

That evening, my brother organized a bocce game. The kids and adults had fun playing.

The kids prizes were inflatable animals. Rowan was riding around on this Flamingo half the night like this. Who knew dollar store toys could be so cool.

The girls also did a flip flop fabric craft. We tied pieces of fabric around our flip flops to get a fun look.

Didn't mine turn out cute?

The last day that we were there was a day spent at the lake again. There was more boating, food, and burying in the sand. The first day that we were at the lake, all of the kids were riding the tube. They somehow all fell off and so Chan and Rowan weren't interested in riding the tube anymore. Thank goodness for life jackets and for some of the older kids stepping up to take responsibility for our little guys.

Such a relaxing vacation, and I can't wait for our reunion next year!
