Father's Day

I'm so excited to have a day to celebrate Fathers.  My own dad is the most amazing man you will ever meet.  He's always been there for me, and I know he always will be.

Marshall is also a wonderful Father.  I'm going to brag on him for a minute because I don't get to do enough of it. :)  He's incredibly hands on with our boys, plays a lot with them, does so much for me, and treats me like a princess.  We put together a goody basket for him with his favorite treats this morning.  Then I made him breakfast before we headed to church.  When we came home from church, I had to head off for work, but not before I finished making lunch for him that included chicken that was already in the slow cooker.  As I was setting the table, Marsh was sitting there and had just finished cutting up watermelon.  In my hurry to get everything ready quickly, I spilled an entire glass of water and ice everywhere.  Marsh knows that it's getting hard for me to bend and such.  Before I could even turn around to go get paper towels, he had a handful of paper towels and was on the floor cleaning up the mess that I had made.  It may not seem like a big feat, but I wanted to cry at how he didn't even blink an eye to help me.  I could have cleaned up the mess by myself, it would have taken less than a minute, but  I didn't have to.  He's like this all of the time.  Always puts others before himself and does a lot around the house.

I also admire the type of person that he is at his job.  When I go to my job, I clock in, I clock out.  I don't bring my work home and some days, it's all I can do to function or make it through.  Marshall on the other hand is always looking for ways to be actively involved or improve his company.  He thinks outside the box and always goes above and beyond.  He recently had a marketing event that he had been pushing for to get new leads for his team.  It wasn't necessarily traditionally how things are normally done in his company, but Marsh pushed it forward because he'd done enough research and developed relationships that he just knew it would work.  The event ended up being a huge success and his boss was incredibly surprised at the outcome.  He managed to get twice as many leads at this conference than they've gotten in the last 6 months.  I'm definitely not surprised, he's really amazing at what he does.

I love Marshall's testimony and his knowledge of the gospel.  If you were to ask him it, he would be modest and say there's things that he needs to work on.  I think we all feel that way, but he's a spiritual giant.  I lean on his testimony and knowledge a lot and I don't know if he realizes it.

I just love him.  SO much.  (Did I mention he's super hot and I get butterflies when he walks in the room or looks me in the eye?)  He might not realize that he still does that for me, but he does.  :)  Happy Father's Day Marshall!!!

Brandcation - Destin, Florida

Part of being a blogger means getting to attend awesome conferences.  Pampers sponsored me to go to Brandcation last month and it was in Destin, Florida.  It was so much fun and conferences are definitely the places to go to network.  I've had a lot of people over the years ask me how I got started with my blog and how I've grown it into the business that it is now.  I'd say that 90% of it has been networking.  Making relationships with others online and sharing opportunities has helped to shape me and given me some of the most amazing opportunities.  I went to Brandcation last year and loved it.  I knew since Miss Nova would be here in August, it would probably be the only conference that I would go to this year.  I didn't lug around my big camera because sometimes it's just too much hassle.  All photos are courtesy of my iphone and a little waterproof camera I took with me.

I flew out Thursday morning and got to Destin about 3 pm.  We stayed at the most beautiful resort while we were there, called the Emerald Grande.  There were 4 of us to a condo and 3 bedrooms in each condo.  My friends were nice enough to give me a room to myself with a queen sized bed.

Once we were all settled in, we headed to the main condo to see everyone, talk brands and have our little swag party.

Over the next few days, we snorkeled and did snuba diving, went on a pirate cruise, saw dolphins, sat on the beach, swam in the pool and ate a ton of delicious food.  It was a bit overcast while we were there but was still way fun.

The last day that we were there, a few of us went out on a boat to Crab Island.  It's a sandbar right in the middle of the water.  Lots of people take their boats there and just hang out for the day to play in the water since you can see it isn't very deep.

Mother's Day

Although Mother's Day was a month ago, it was definitely a day to remember.  I was in Destin, Florida for a blogging conference so I wouldn't be home for that day.  I arrived on Thursday afternoon and didn't get home until Sunday night.  On Friday, one of the other bloggers told me that there was a package down in security for me.  I couldn't imagine why there would be a package.  I came down to find flowers, a dozen chocolate dipped strawberries and a sweet note from my husband and boys.  It definitely made me feel so special and spoiled.

Here's what the note said close up:

When I got home Sunday night, the boys were anxious to give me their Mother's Day presents.  I love this silhouette of Rowan that he brought home from preschool.  It looks just like him.

This is what Chandler made for me that he made at school as well.  Don't you love the portrait of me and him together?  It's so cute.

I am definitely blessed to be a mom to such two awesome boys and wife to a loving and wonderful man.
