Good Mom

Yesterday I was talking to my sister on the phone and we got on the conversation of "perfect blogs." You know the ones where everything is picture perfect? Kids always look adorable with cute clothes and hair combed, house looks perfect, blog writer is perfectly upbeat. I don't want to be a downer, but REALLY? Then I proceeded to joke about my blog and how my kids break windows, eat deodorant, drink loads of chocolate syrup, and run around shirtless. Don't get me wrong, we have our moments where the boys look cute, the house is clean (that doesn't happen too often :) ), and everything is running smoothly. But those aren't really the moments that I am going to remember, and they often seem far and few between.
I swear my boys have 200% more energy than most other kids their age. They are constantly on the go. Anyone who is around us often enough can attest to this. Sometimes I envy those moms whose kids will stay close and they don't have to chase them all over.
Today I had one of those good mom moments. I was talking to my mom on the phone and had undressed Rowan to get him ready for the bath. Yes, it's after noon and he's just having a bath. I kept his diaper on and talked to my mom for about 10 minutes. In that time, Rowan proceeded to find a marker and color on his chest, take his diaper off, find this sweet red beaded necklace, and a cookie dough poptart. He was downstairs jumping on the couch in his new attire. Yep, one of those good mom moments.

its a boy being a boy. If you can find me a boy who stays close by that mom will become my hero. Mine are crazy wild and full of life. I am forever having to chase. I am hoping he used washable for you. Mine go immideatly for the permenant markers. All in a day of good fun ;)

Hey I had to track you down again through the Bluths. I can't remember what hospital you said you were working at and I don't know if you'd be interested but last I knew my boss was having a really hard time staffing nights in the NICU at Primarys. She's looking for another part time person. I don't know if you'd be interested since you already have a job but I figured I'd just pass on the info since you're in the area and I know you can do the work and not be a flake like some of the other people she's been interviewing. I haven't worked since Monday so I don't know if she's already hired someone but let me know if you'd want more info about it.

By the way, your kids are hecka cute even in beaded necklaces and no clothes. That looks like a typical day around here as well. I'm even worse with my blogging since I'm so busy running after my kids and putting out fires I hardly have time for pictures and posting. Way to keep it real though

LOL! Tiffany if you didn't have those moments I wouldn't have so much to laugh at. Miss being around those boys.

You are so cute Tiff! I love what Rowan chose to do in those 10 minutes. I love people who will show the real side of their life! We all have crazy things that go on and no ones life is perfect!

Good Conversation on the phone yesterday Tiff! LOL... Yes, your boys are super active. There is a way to teach them to hold still - it is called duct tape. Use it generously. But what's the fun in that? They are both cute and have their unique personalities and I must say - fun!

As long as he didn't pee on the couch, it's all good.

LOL -- yeah, been there. Yesterday, as a matter of fact . . . only my toddler DID pee on the couch and grind chocolate chips into the fabric.

Sigh.

And, this is the same kid who has eaten deodorant, bitten her brother, played with her own poop, written all over herself, and "tried" to wash the dishes for me.

I've soooooo been there. :)
